These gorgeous pups have officially reached their halfway home milestone! Four weeks old is such a big week around here, and it always feels like the puppies wake up one morning just a little bit more like “real puppies.”
This week has been full of exciting firsts. They’re learning how to eat softened kibble, drink fresh water, and even start using the litter box. Frannie is getting a few more well-deserved breaks these days, but she still keeps a close eye on her babies and happily tops off their chunky little bellies with warm milk whenever someone starts fussing for mom.
Their energy levels have definitely kicked up a notch, although they aren’t entirely sure what to do with all that enthusiasm yet! Their bodies seem to be growing faster than their brains and legs can keep up with, which makes for the cutest awkward stage ever. Lots of wobbly walking, surprise tumbles, and those classic “all paws and no coordination” moments. We always laugh because this stage feels a lot like Grade 2 school photos. Adorable, slightly awkward, and absolutely unforgettable.
Today was another big milestone because the puppies met the great outdoors for the very first time! There were so many new sounds, smells, textures, and things to explore that it was a LOT to take in. Some were brave and curious, some needed a little extra reassurance, and all of them came back inside completely tuckered right out afterward. You can check out a little Instagram Reel of them being outside for the first time right over here!
We are already so in love with this little crew and cannot wait to watch their personalities continue to shine through over the next few weeks.
